Under the direction of the IPM Market Director, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with Physicians/Practices in a defined service area through consistent, strategic field call strategies. Work cohesively with leadership and internal service line administrators to drive and sustain growth in procedural services aligned with the local, regional, and enterprise business plans. Participate in strategic planning and identification of physician targets to achieve this growth through utilization of UHS's data analytic tools. Deliver prospective business plans and retrospective performance to leadership on a quarterly basis. Responsible for both field visits to physicians and referral staff in offices, as well as regular interaction with facility executive leaders and service line administrators. Strategically plan, implement, and participate in outreach efforts designed to improve relationships, and generate new patient volume, within the healthcare community in the designated service area or market. Primary efforts are targeted toward physicians, but community groups and other potential inpatient and outpatient partners will be included, with the goal of growing business opportunities and maximizing referral and redirection volume.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Qualifications

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business, Marketing, or related field within 4 years of hire required. Master's Degree preferred. (Current employees as of 07/01/2018 in marketing development roles may be transferred into this updated PRM job with current education and experience.)

Work experience :

  • Three to five (3-5) years of related successful experience in healthcare sales or network development.
  • Experience in physician relations, network, marketing, business development and/or strategic planning preferred. Strong project management and plan execution skills with response to multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience with analyzing physician volume data, payer mix and ink to service line capabilities, development, and overall market positioning.
  • Experience with healthcare operations environment.

Knowledge :

  • Demonstrated knowledge of dynamics that drive the patient referral process.
  • Understanding of physician, hospital, and healthcare issues, including managed care, reimbursement, practice operations, credentialing, recruitment, and governance.
  • Understanding the larger vision of the organization in the changing healthcare environment.

Skills :

  • Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office and Intellimed Client usage program.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with proven ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees throughout a healthcare system.
  • Demonstrate skills to cultivate relationships by building affinity and loyalty of referral sources over time.

Abilities:

  • Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and gain credibility with Physicians, providers, management and staff.

  • Office equipment such as fax machine, copier, and telephone system

Work environment :

  • Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment
