Physician Assistant - Surgery

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at LifeBridge Health. As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of an attending surgeon to provide patient care and technical procedures for patients on the hospital floors, Emergency Room, or other care areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect patient care while working to optimize patient safety.
• Work proactively and in collaboration with other team members and specialty services.
• Act as a care coordinator for surgeons, consulting services, nursing staff, etc.
• Screen patients and perform physical examinations.
• Order/prescribe necessary medications, laboratory and radiologic studies, routine fluids, diets, patient activities, and similar patient care orders.
• Perform surgical assistant responsibilities, including handling tissue, providing exposure, using instruments, suturing, and tying, and providing hemostasis.
• Respond to the Emergency Room to manage and/or assist with trauma resuscitation.
• Instruct patients on discharge information, home care of wounds, use of medication, diet, or other aspects of health care.

Requirements:

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license required.
• NCCPA Certification required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
