Overview

National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Healthcare Job Captain to join their Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Minneapolis or Milwaukee office. In this role, you will be working on all phases of design & construction documentation of healthcare projects. This position requires excellent time management, communication, and technical skills as you work closely with your team developing design concepts into high quality documents.

The firm has 11 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects. Recently, the firm won the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with IIDA Healthcare Design Award.

Responsibilities

Develops a thorough understanding of projects design philosophy and provides major input in concepts according to parameters defined by Project Manager or Project Architect.

Produces construction documents in Revit, including plans, sections and details

Assists with quality control for the design function and integrates and coordinates all disciplines into the building project

Maintains ongoing communications to understand any project changes, design issues or time / budget constraints that may impact initial assignment

Interacts and communicates effectively and professionally with other team members

Utilizes past knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of product, recognizes problem misuses, communicates impact to team and seeks clarity when necessary.

Assumes execution of and assists with quality control activities for architectural elements on a project.

Reviews drawings, documents and submittals for document compliance and documenting code review and compliance.

Keeps lead architect or designated team leader informed of progress; recognizes problem issues and communicates impact to team and seeks clarity when necessary.

Uses past experience and project knowledge to assist the Project Manager keeping in mind schedules / budgets and provides communication as appropriate with team leaders and/or team members who are responsible for workflow / timelines, etc.

Meets project design schedule and design construction budgets.

Assists with cost estimates and evaluation of bids with Project Manager.

Assists with the preparation of analysis including alternatives or substitutions to reduce costs.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture

4-10 years of experience

Interest in working on medium to large-scale project types in a very collaborative environment

Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools desired

Strong 2D and 3D graphic skills desired

Healthcare experience and OSHPD / DSA experience highly desirable
