We are looking for a mission driven Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The Pharmacy Technician contributes to the organization’s overall goal to develop and sustain centralized and shared pharmacy services for all patients. The Pharmacy Technician works as part of a team that provides support for pharmaceutical programs, the pharmacy department, and the Medication Assistance Program. The Pharmacy Technician performs duties under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, including preparation, labeling, and distribution of medication. The Pharmacy Technician also maintains prescription inventory and pricing. The Pharmacy Technician contributes to maintaining a cooperative work environment, and assistance with administrative support. Bilingual staff assists patients and non-bilingual staff with interpretation and translation.

This is a full-time position located on our main campus (30th & L). The schedule will be 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm and Saturdays, 9:00am-1:00pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School graduate or equivalent required.

* Minimum of 18 years of age required.

* Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.

* Acquire a Pharmacy Technician License with the State of Nebraska. The license must be in good standing.

* This position requires a Certification from the Nebraska State Pharmacy Board. This is to be completed within 1 year from the date of obtaining a Pharmacy Technician License.

* Working knowledge of medication classes, types, and utilization. Knowledge of pharmacy computers and their utilization.

* Two years of experience working with medications, preferably in a pharmacy environment.

* Understanding of government programs and sensitivity to the needs of the low-income population.

* Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups in a coordinating role.

* Working understanding of the needs of the medically underserved.

* Awareness of community resources, state and local networks, and community-wide perspective to problem identification and resolution.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills and basic mathematic knowledge.

* Able to work independently balancing responsibilities and work projects with a minimum of direction.

* Strong organizational skills.

* Knowledge and proficiency in personal computer operations and software packages.
