About the Role The Company is seeking a Chief Program Officer to lead its Program Unit in the midst of a critical and challenging period for sexual and reproductive health. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, strategic leader with a mandate to create and execute strategies that reclaim universal reproductive health care, freedom, and equitable access. This role is pivotal in the fight to rebuild the federal right to abortion and will involve leading a large, multidisciplinary team to achieve historic victories. The Chief Program Officer will be responsible for policy, advocacy, campaigns, communications, culture, care and access, education and training, and the Black Health Equity initiative. They must be a trusted, go-to thought leader internally and a credible, commanding, and persuasive figure in external engagements.Candidates for the Chief Program Officer position should have a professional background in sexual and reproductive health, with a strong focus on access, advocacy, or reproductive justice. The role requires a leader who can spot and leverage emerging opportunities, build a trusted relationship with affiliates, and foster a culture of trust, experimentation, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a record of centering Black feminist theory and praxis, depth in equity, inclusion, and justice, and the ability to lead a large team through organizational change. Personal characteristics should include empathy, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead with both influence and authority. The Chief Program Officer will be expected to have exceptional political instincts, connections, and the ability to engage externally as a leader and influencer.
