Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 7:30 am-5:30 pm; Saturdays 8:00 am-1:00 pm

Pay Range: $21-22 for experienced/licensed technicians

Our practice is excited to add a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician Leader to our team! We are a full-service veterinary hospital that provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We offer a wide variety of services including preventive, medical, surgical, dental, and diagnostic care for dogs, cats, avians. In addition to routine wellness care, we also offer many advanced services such as digital radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, orthopedics, and more.

The Veterinary Technician Lead is responsible for ensuring the functionality of daily operations in relation to technical staff and daily work flow.

The ideal candidate must have an understanding for veterinary procedures, exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong leadership abilities and a passion for Veterinary Medicine and patient care.
Daily duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Inspire and motivate your team by demonstrating exemplary behavior.
  • General technical duties including, but not limited to: assist in surgical and dental procedures, diagnostics, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, patient histories, educating clients on medications and procedures as directed by DVM staff, caring for sick and hospitalized patients, and administering medication under supervision of DVM staff. 
  • Work with PM and Managing DVM to identify areas of improvement within policy and strategy. Ability to train new workflow surrounding changes in policy.
  • Uphold clinic standards and protocols by monitoring staff performance and ensuring compliance.
  • Provide training to technical staff to ensure proficiency and quality of care among all members.
  • Understand relevant federal and state law as to reinforce compliance with OSHA, DEA, Etc. 
  • Have the desire and ability to speak at staff meetings – teach skills and explain new protocols where needed.

  • Active Listening: Following the instructions of veterinarians and sometimes patient owners. Picking up on the needs of veterinarians and teammates based on prior experiences and feedback.
  • Organization Skills : Clear tracking of lab specimens, medications, patient instructions, workflow, and other job-related items while managing multiple patients and clients.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensuring all activities and interactions result in the highest level of client satisfaction.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in state of desired employment with  2 years of previous experience
  • Previous experience in veterinary surgery and dentistry
  • Must have 1 year of experience in a leadership position
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
  • Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
