Speech Language Pathologist - PRN

 

Hitchcock Inpatient Rehab at Aiken Regional Medical Centers is consistently among the top performers in the CSRA, UHS facilities, and the country.  Through strong interdisciplinary communication and cooperation, the Physical Therapist will assist in progression of mobility-related tasks to facilitate a comprehensive return to function for a variety of patients.

To provide Speech Language Pathology services (evaluation, treatment plan development, treatment, and discharge planning) to patients in the adult outpatient setting in accordance with facility policy, standards, and philosophy. 

 

Duties:

  • Conducts evaluations (language, articulation, voice and dysphagia), considering medical history, physician orders, patient capabilities, and patient expectations.
  • Develops appropriate treatment plan consistent with assessment, diagnostic outcomes, while incorporating patient goals and focus on discharge planning.
  • Implement treatment plan in accordance with methods, techniques, modalities, and procedures.
  • Actively participates in committees and task forces as appropriate.
  • Appropriately provide patient and family education in preparation for discharge.
  • Meet documentation standards with patient charts.
  • Charge accurately and appropriately for services rendered.
  • Perform thorough and efficient chart review to prepare for patient care.            
  • Positive and professional communication with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Timely and cost effective delivery of services.
  • Displays excellent customer service skills.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Assist other departments during staffing shortages.

Qualifications

 

Requirements:

Education requirements:                  Master's Degree from an accredited SLP program.                                             

                                                                       

Work experience requirements:                   Prefer 1 year experience in a adult outpatient setting but not required.                                        

                                                                       

Required licenses/ certifications/courses              Current SC license, Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP (CCC-SLP), BLS.                                            

                                                                       

Required skills, knowledge and abilities:               Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.  Effective interpersonal skills.  Clinical competence in speech/language and dysphagia.  Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessments by the facility.
