Criminal Defense Attorney

When we have a chance to lift someone out of a bad situation and get them through a tough time, it is the most rewarding work we do. We take our clients by the hand and mitigate the consequences they are facing in the criminal justice system. We only hire kind, caring, compassionate, and tactically brilliant attorneys at Ridley Defense.

This position requires a self-sufficient and experienced attorney who can handle serious felonies, mental health cases, and domestic violence restraining orders. We meet weekly in our main office in Moorpark, with our cases spread between Ventura, Santa Barbara, and the San Fernando Valley. Pay range is depending on experience, but generally between $75,000 and $125,000.

We represent a lot of people who may be 100% guilty of what they are charged with, so our job often is damage control. Whether a client is completely innocent or completely guilty or somewhere in between, we meet them where they are and come up with a plan to get them to the other side. Most importantly, we make sure the clients feel taken care of through the process. We pick them up and shepherd them through a really tough time.

This requires an attorney who is kind and confident. We have to deliver bad news on a daily basis, even when we are winning a case. We give our clients hope. We give them confidence that no matter what, they are getting the best outcome for their circumstances.

We value prior government experience. Someone who used to be a prosecutor knows how the DAs think. They know how to get results with a smile and a handshake; NOT a chainsaw. Someone who used to be a public defender knows how to handle difficult clients and balance a large caseload. We respect law enforcement, although if they haven't proven their case, we can explain our position to the DA so they see our point and agree.

Our attorneys handle their cases from beginning to end. We only have attorneys in our firm who are self-sufficient and who can handle the most serious felony case through conclusion with little assistance. We have to make sure that the clients have absolute confidence in every attorney in our firm, not just the name on the door.

We do a great job of bringing in cases, but we really appreciate an attorney who is willing to do some networking to make the phone ring as well. We reward our attorneys who bring in cases, and make sure that through our process, the referrals are given white-glove treatment the whole way.

Our clients need to know that they are working with the top criminal defense firm in Southern California. Our customer service is on the level of Nordstrom, or Disney, or Starbucks. White glove treatment is a must.

There is no problem that we cannot solve for our clients. If a solution isn't easy, we need problem solvers who will look past the obstacle and find a new way around it. An experienced attorney knows how to navigate our criminal court system; knows how to interface with law enforcement to get the inside scoop on a case; knows who to call in the DA's office to get a pre-filing status update; knows how to talk to a judge to get what we want.

We wake up every day PROUD of the work we do. We only bring in attorneys who can say the same.
