Summary Description :
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for updating payroll records and participate in payroll processing accurately and timely. Oversees the entire payroll process in Directors absence, following company policies and procedures. This role plays a critical part in maintaining payroll accuracy and resolving employee inquiries.
Key Responsibilities :
  • Data entry, Adding Special Batches, and deduction changes requested by HR.
  • Verify accuracy of timekeeping records including wage rate programs and allocations on timecards resolve any discrepancies.
  • Enter wage garnishments in payroll system ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and departments as needed.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and resolve issues.
  • Assist in payroll audits and compliance reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Special Considerations :
  • Employee may be sitting, performing computer work for extended periods of time.
  • Payroll processing days may require more hours than scheduled.

  • Salary Range: $27-30 per hour based on departmental budget, qualifications, experience, education, and licenses. This range represents the agency's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
