New team members are provided with top industry training and opportunities to develop accounting and consulting skills, while being supported by an experienced staff.
The primary responsibilities include processing payroll and tax payments on behalf of multiple clients, managing and updating payroll changes, terminations, benefit withholdings and garnishments. Detecting and reconciling issues related to payroll and payroll tax payments. Filing quarterly payroll tax returns. The Payroll Professional will process weekly client payrolls and maintain employee time records.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
Performs assigned client bookkeeping functions and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
Understanding of current regulations, taxation of wages and deductions.
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least six months of experience in payroll preferred.
QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online experience.
Demonstrated experience in filing quarterly payroll tax returns.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Base Pay Range: $50,000 - $58,000 per year or $24 - $27 per hour
