Job Title: Tax Preparer (EA or CPA)
Location: Charlottesville, VA
Salary: Up to $130,000 annually
Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Preparer (EA or CPA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong background in individual and business taxation, as well as trust and non-profit tax preparation. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and handle a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Tax Preparation: Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including individual, business (S Corp, C Corp, partnerships), trust, and non-profit tax returns.
- Compliance and Strategy: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while providing strategic tax planning and advice to clients.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their tax-related questions and providing high-quality service.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other tax professionals and support staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in tax preparation and filings.
- Document Management: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all tax-related documentation and communications.
- Professional Development: Stay current with tax laws and industry trends to offer clients the most relevant advice and solutions.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on individual, business, trust, and non-profit tax preparation.
- Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess, Thomson Reuters UltraTax, ProSystems fx) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; additional relevant certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
