Clinical Assistant Professor of Management in Business Communication

Job Summary

The Law, Communication, and Ethics Area at the Mitch Daniels School of Business at Purdue University invites high-quality candidates to apply for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor position (non-tenure track but promotable to higher rank). Candidates should be comfortable teaching business communication courses, particularly strategic business writing courses. The appointment is expected to begin August 2025.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include a subset of the following:
•Teach primarily undergraduate strategic business writing and other undergraduate courses as needed by the area and department.
•Teach master's level courses in executive presence and/or data storytelling or other graduate level courses as needed by the area and department.
•This position requires a service component, potentially including serving as Assistant Course Coordinator for the strategic business writing course, developing a writing lab through the Daniels School of Business Center for Business Communication, and other duties as needed by the area and department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•A Ph.D. in Communication or a related field at the time of appointment
•Relevant college or university teaching experience
•Industry experience in either communication or business
•Demonstrated excellence in teaching and service, shown through teaching awards, positive student reviews, or similar accolades
•The ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, students, staff and administrators
•Working knowledge with online teaching platforms such as Brightspace, Blackboard, etc.
