Job Description: This position is an excellent opportunity for Structural Engineer to be part of a dynamic small business providing full-architectural and engineering design services in northern New Mexico and Albuquerque. This position resides in Santa Fe, NM or Albuquerque, NM, but also provides support to other offices. This position will primarily support federal government clients, but will also design for non-government clients.

Responsibilities:

Structural engineering design, analysis, principles, design guides and appropriate standards, building codes, and technical specifications. Writing specifications, preparing calculations, and developing AutoCAD and Revit drawings. Engineering calculation preparation, applying engineering methods and applying technology aided engineering tools. Providing system integration within and across disciplines. Performing design, installation, and commissioning of commercial, industrial and safety related systems. Structural analysis of re-configured facility space, and design to conform to the IBC Codes, ASCE standards, and material standards such as ACI and AISC IEBC requirements for alterations. Demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Providing construction and project support. Having familiarity with DOE and DOD design standards and applicable design codes and standards is a plus. Requirements:

BS Degree in Civil Engineering discipline from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of New Mexico (or eligible to apply in NM) is a plus. 5-10 years of experience in engineering design in support of facility renovation designs, new facilities, and infrastructure upgrades. This person will utilize IEBC and IBC and must be proficient with design using AutoCAD/BIM/REVIT. Extensive experience with RISA 3D Modeling, Autodesk products including the most recent versions of AutoCAD, BIM and Revit desired. Prior Department of Energy (DOE) project experience is a plus, but not required. Must be organized with good oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must have a valid driver's license. A federal background security investigation and drug screening will be required for all new hires once employed. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Random drug screening while employed.
