New England Federal Credit Union is recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure team! The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of credit unions enterprise network and application infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to network switches/routers/firewalls, servers, storage, backup, core banking platform and Microsoft Office 365. Assists in annual budgets pertaining to designated systems. This includes maintenance contracts, planning, and evaluation, of software and/or hardware to assure reliable performance of these core systems.

Specific duties include:

  • Design, implementation, and support of enterprise network and server infrastructure. Act as technology lead for assigned projects to ensure successful and timely completion of core infrastructure initiatives.
  • Troubleshoots problems with enterprise technology hardware and software infrastructure acting as Tier 3 support. Ensure uptime metrics are monitored and met.
  • Design, implement, and maintain security controls and processes as required and assigned to meet the credit unions security requirements and posture.
  • Complete maintenance and patching of enterprise technology hardware and software, working with third party vendors as needed.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Ensure and promote the development of team members through coaching, training, and leadership.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Eight years to 10 years of similar or related experience.
  • College degree in a related field.
  • Advanced infrastructure related certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer; and/or Certified Cisco Network Professional strong preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator Expert; Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate; VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization 2023 certifications preferred.
