Job Description Job Description SUMMARY

The Outreach Itinerant Support position, under the supervision of the Outreach Services Supervisor and direction of the Executive Director of Educational Services, is responsible for managing a caseload of assigned students and customers in local public and private schools. This position serves as a member of Individualized Education Plan (“IEP”) teams and is responsible for effectively collaborating and communicating with the necessary team members to monitor and achieve student progress, along with delivering all autism support services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Formulates and delivers direct and or consultative autism support services to caseload of assigned students which results in student progress
  • Develops and maintains a current, professional knowledge base regarding curriculum and methods to assist students in initiating and maintaining positive relationships, peer acceptance and overall school adjustment, and effective social skills with the school environment (i.e., communication, problem solving, perspective taking, self-regulation, self-advocacy, etc.)
  • Monitors student progress by collecting, analyzing, and reporting student-related data
  • Bills for services delivered in accordance with caseload assignments and district contracts
  • Tracks service delivery in accordance with IEP service levels and district contracts
  • Writes documents to support replicable service delivery
  • Confers with the school team (e.g., teacher, SLP, OT) to identify student specific social skill deficit areas
  • Ensures and promotes healthy, valuable, and collaborative relationships with customers
  • Actively develops professionally to maintain and grow considerable knowledge base
  • Completes other duties as assigned


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The following positions or frequent movements are typical of the job: sitting, walking, standing, or reaching, often for extended periods of the workday.

The position requires that an individual be able to learn new tasks quickly and effectively. Job requirements may change frequently. The ability to understand and carry out detailed, involved, instructions is mandatory. The incumbent must be able to travel to multiple locations daily, when needed to conduct organizational business. Subject to inside environmental conditions.


EXPECTED SCHEDULE

This is a minimum full time 40 hour per week position. It is a 10-month position, typically mid-August until early-June, with 4 days of professional development obligation over the summer months. Days and hours of the work week are agreed upon by management, the contracted school district schedules, and the Vista Outreach calendar.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, or related service field required
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience delivering Applied Behavior Analysis therapy or Education to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders required
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office products and Internet applications required
  • Clean driving record, valid PA driver’s license, current vehicle inspection, up-to-date vehicle registration, and proof of adequate insurance coverage required
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, or related service field highly desired
  • Behavior Analyst Board Certification, Behavior Specialist Licensure, and/or PA Department of Education Certification highly desired
  • Experience working within public and private school settings highly desired
  • Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and organizational skills
  • Effectively manages multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
  • Problem solves in a positive manner to analyze issues and create action plans
  • Demonstrates flexibility, receptiveness to change, tactfulness, patience, and courtesy
