Tax Manager

Tax manager job description
We are looking for an experienced tax manager to lead a growing tax practice with offices located in multiple locations. The ideal candidate would be bilingual (English and Spanish) with good communication skills in addition to expert knowledge in taxation.
Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and manage the preparation of federal and state tax returns
• Review tax returns
• Ensure accurate, timely filing of all tax returns
• Maintenance of client database
• Timely communication with clients
• Research tax issues and tax planning opportunities
• Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
• Monitor and mentor members of tax team to increase effectiveness and higher level of development
• Recognize and develop tax planning opportunities for clients
• Respond timely to IRS and other tax notices
• Participate in networking events and business development

Qualifications:

• Excellent and up-to-date knowledge of tax accounting , tax compliance and small business enterprise tax returns
• Knowledge and expertise in the use of UltraTax and related software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Current CPA license
• Bilingual with verbal and written competency in Spanish and English
• Strong technical tax research experience
• Good problem solving skills
• Desire and ability to lead and develop a well prepared tax team
• Recent public experience with a regional or mid-sized firm a plus
• Experience with foreign tax compliance/reporting a plus
