Ground Segment Transition Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a member of a Mission Integration team, you will support transition of the Next Generation Operational Control Segment (OCX) from acquisition to operations and sustainment. You'll be developing transition procedures and detailed event planning to demonstrate capability and build confidence to support Space Force fielding decisions. You'll work in a dynamic environment with acquisition, operations, and sustainment personnel as well as development contractors all with the shared goal of a successful transfer of the GPS constellation to a new OCX ground system.

You Have:

10+ years of experience working with Space Operations Command or Space Systems Command customers
Experience in military or space systems operations, transition to operations, acquisition, sustainment, or development
Experience with OCX ground system development, architecture, or system performance assessment
Experience with the achievement of key DoD acquisition milestones and acquisition decision events
Experience developing risk mitigation courses of action and assessing impacts of risks and proposed changes
Experience crafting and briefing strategic communications to leadership
Knowledge of DoD GPS software and systems engineering
Ability to organize and lead technical interchange meetings to determine activities and technical work necessary to support transition detailed event planning
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

10+ years of experience with DoD acquisition system, life cycle planning, operations, or logistics and sustainment
5+ years of experience with command and control of space vehicles or ground system operations
Experience in transitioning systems from acquisition to Operations and Sustainment
Experience developing, writing, or executing test or plans
Experience in or supporting 2 SOPS or 19 SOPS
Experience in scripting with Python
Experience with managing programmatic or contractual baselines
Knowledge with GPS Kalman Filter operations and navigation performance analysis
Master’s degree
Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) field preferred; or Master’s degree in Engineering or a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) field a plus

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
