With a heritage of technological excellence, our team serves customers in the communications, defense, medical, industrial, and scientific markets.YOUR DAY TO DAY: We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to manage the procurement process for our satellite antenna manufacturing operations. This position is key in ensuring a steady flow of high-quality materials while optimizing costs for low-volume, high-mix products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain management, with a proven ability to work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers.THIS POSITION CAN BE FILLED IN PLANO OR KILGORE, TX, OR CATAWBA, NCYour Day-to-Day:Execute and manage purchase orders for major/critical commodities, services, and complex procurements with a focus on improving supplier quality and reducing total cost of ownership.Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements of moderate to high complexity, value, and risk, ensuring all procurement actions are properly documented, reviewed, and approved.Identify and mitigate risks when negotiating terms and conditions.Lead supplier issue resolutions in collaboration with Operations Program Managers, Supplier Quality, and other stakeholders; drive improvements in supplier performance and quality.Coordinate purchasing activities with internal partners to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of products and services.Support proposal activities with innovative solutions that meet program needs and requirements.Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, purchase order revisions, and requests for quotes.Perform cost or price analysis on procurements of moderate to high value, risk, and complexity.Negotiate and document terms, conditions, pricing, delivery, quality, and performance requirements for procurements.Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned procurements to ensure the highest quality at the best value.Develop new supply sources when existing suppliers are no longer competitive and recommend cost-saving proposals or alternative sources.Interact with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues and ensure effective communication of material productive internal and external working relationships and may coordinate activities of other personnel.Lead continuous improvement activities to drive material commonality and reduce costs, schedules, and risks.Attend proposal planning and kickoff meetings and collaborate with functional areas to obtain the latest Bill of Materials (BOM).Provide inputs into procurement decisions, including make/buy analysis, source selection, market research, and supplier supplier surveillance and audits, and support internal, customer, and external compliance audits.Mentor and train other supply chain professionals, leading efforts to drive continuous improvement.You Are the Right Person for This Job If You Have:A minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management in a manufacturing environment, with experience in satellite antenna manufacturing preferred.Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing (APICS/ASCM certification is a plus).Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems is a strong plus.In-depth knowledge of assigned commodities and advanced decision-making skills.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while showing initiative and exercising independent judgment.Strong negotiation skills with the ability to develop win-win solutions.In-depth knowledge of supply management, government contractor purchasing requirements, and the ability to apply Federal Acquisition Requirements/DFAR in procurement activities.Strong analytical skills and the ability to lead and mentor a small team.This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
