We are seeking (1) Assistant Director, Leadership Development to join the already awesome team taking them to the next level of excellence!

The Assistant Director of Leadership reports to the Director of Leadership and Service and is a key member of the Leadership and Service team, serving as a thought partner with the Director and a strategic collaborator with faculty and staff across the university. Overall responsibilities within the Office of Leadership and Service include but are not limited to:

•Collaborate with the Director in developing annual goals that grow leadership programming and assess outcomes.

•Work with university partners to create and support opportunities for students to engage in leadership experiences that elevate the transformative effect of their educational experience

•Plan and execute a variety of leadership events and workshops, including the annual events such as the TEDxGeorgiaStateU and Leadership Student Conference.

•Supervise Leadership and Service coordinators (2) in their facilitation of leadership opportunities and programming for the student body.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Work with university partners to plan and execute the annual student leadership conference. Facilitate university-wide committee comprised of student leaders, key staff across multiple departments and faculty to develop a multi-track conference focused on leadership, career development, and networking.

Manage and administer online leadership offerings, such as CliftonStrengths, Leadership modules, and leadership certificate programs. Consult with faculty to support online leadership opportunities for students.

Plan and execute a variety of leadership events and workshops, such as the annual TEDxGeorgiaStateU. Work with Student Organizations to develop and support leadership training.

Provide supervision to Leadership and Service coordinators (2) who facilitate co-curricular leadership opportunities for the student body. Assess performance of SCE student staff and provide developmental feedback.

Represent Leadership and Service on various Student Engagement, inter-divisional, and campus-wide committees and affiliated events. Serve as a liaison with Clubs & Orgs, Athletics, Residence Life and Cultures, Community, and Inclusion.

Using collected assessment data, demonstrate progress towards leadership and service success goals and milestones, as agreed upon with the Director. Provide monthly data reports.

Teach one section of GSU 1010 annually. Participate as a contributing member to the student engagement staff team during signature events: Welcome Week, Homecoming, New Student Orientation and Graduation. Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Master's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of college student development Demonstrated success in planning and facilitating large scale, detail-oriented programs and events. Skilled in collaboration, supervision, and strategic planning. Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be a self-starter and work independently as well as with a team.
