Summer 2025 Agronomy Intern

Summary: This position is responsible for working closely with the Sales Agronomists learning to support customers regarding seed, crop nutrients, and crop protection products. This position will also provide operational support to the Agronomy Team. Summer interns will work at one of the following locations: Pierron, Trenton, Okawville, or Venedy.

Sales Support

  • Assist Sales Agronomist with field scouting, soil sampling, test plots, trials, and customer service calls
  • Observe sales and service activities and interact with growers on the farm

Operations Support

  • Assist agronomy operations staff with safe delivery, distribution, and application of agronomy products
  • Assist in inventory management and warehouse operations
  • Assist with housekeeping and maintenance of facilities and equipment

Customer Service

  • Provide prompt and courteous service to customers

Professional Development

  • Increase knowledge of agronomy related products/programs and the agronomy industry
  • Learn about operation and maintenance of application and tendering equipment
  • Attend meetings, training, professional development, and continuing education opportunities

Safety

  • Hold self and others accountable to safety policies and safe behaviors
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary workplace in compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, etc.)

  • Proficient computer skills with ability to learn other computer programs
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid driver's license

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Plant and Soil Science, or related field
  • Agriculture background, knowledge, and/or work experience is preferred

Working Conditions: Position operates in both an outdoor environment and an office environment. Requires sitting and standing for prolonged periods, and exposure to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, chemicals, and internal and external temperature/weather conditions (from -20 to +100 degrees). Employee may operate forklifts, pay loaders, or other equipment. Employee must be willing to work weekends, seasonal hours, holidays, and overtime if needed.
