Please do not share outside of the organization.</b> <br> <br> <b>Your Role</b> <br> <br>An OLL is a US field-based, customer-facing, Commercial role that is an extension of Marketing, not a function of Sales. It has the responsibility to work closely with Academic Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), identify 'Rising Stars', and select group of top tier community HCPs identified by the brand while also representing the voice of our KOLs internally within EMD. Key responsibilities include gathering insights to shape brand SI's, strength brand advocacy, and match KOL to brand tactics that align with KOL clinical interests. You also will be responsible for multitude of regional marketing related activities to assist the US Commercial team and external marketplace for important product launches and growth opportunities within the Oncology therapeutic area.<br> <br> <ul> <li>Identify profile, cultivate, and maintain long-term relationships with KOLs tracking opinions and behaviors. </li> <li>Responsible for the development of KOL Engagement Plans for Top Tier KOLs</li> <li>Manage KOL engagement recruitment efforts for targeted congresses/conventions.</li> <li>Lead the identification of 'Rising Stars' in the Academic & Community sectors in conjunction with Marketing and the Field </li> <li>Work closely with KOLs to obtain feedback to be considered in the development of brand strategies, brand content and overall therapeutic input internally. </li> <li>Manage the EMD Serono Speaker Bureau, including the identification, recruitment & nomination of speakers, lead and/or assist in the speaker training process, liaising with appropriate stakeholders in both legal, compliance, and medical, and partnering with internal operations on speaker program execution. </li> <li>Accountable for reactive requests from Senior Leadership on questions around top tier KTLs and for partnering to identify consultants, advisors, and speakers for international and national congress meetings (i.e., ASCO, ESMO).</li> <li>Assist in the execution of Marketing Advisory Boards. This may involve identifying, recommending, and inviting potential advisors, moderators and speakers, preparation of faculty, participation in meeting and report out to functional teams. </li> <li>Lead the development and implementation of the Area level (regional) advisory board plans across academic, regional, and community Oncology HCPs </li> <li>Assist with the development of Key Account engagement plans for each assigned KOL for Area Level Key Account Plans with the commercial team. </li> <li>Provide inspirational leadership, without traditional authority, and focus to assure delivery of key objectives in a highly dynamic environment. </li> <li>Drive the values of the EMD Serono culture and support the vision for the oncology business.</li> <li>In collaboration with the brand team, develop and implement national congress strategy with a particular focus on recruiting, organizing, and moderating the meetings and discussions with KOLs to advance business objectives. </li> <li>Gather KOL insights to facilitate strategic collaborations between EMD and KOLs. </li> <li>Contribute to the overall development of annual brand plan planning process, suggested strategies and tactics directed towards national, regional goals.</li> <li>Cultivating relationships, manage, and provides direction and leadership to key agency partners to deliver on key strategic and tactical initiatives within timelines and allocated budget.</li> <li>Collaborating with HCP marketing team to ensure alignment of key messages and customer insights reports. </li> <li>Work closely with ABD to align on regional business goals and to compliantly share shared customers insights, advocacy rating and level of engagement. </li> <li>Monthly review of KOL engagement plan to ensure the ABD is looped in on key KOL meetings or activities. </li> <li>Participate on region calls as needed. </li> <li>Conduct introductions with matrix team members in a compliant manner. </li> <li>Partner with key functions across disciplines to develop fully integrated Opinion Leader and Key Stakeholder plans to maximize the performance of all promoted brands. </li> <li>Demonstrated behaviors of being a valued and trusted partner to all internal matrix team members.</li> <li>Manage the EMD Serono Speaker Bureau, including the identification, recruitment & nomination of speakers, lead and/or assist in the speaker training process, liaising with appropriate stakeholders in both legal, compliance, and medical, and partnering with internal operations on speaker program execution. </li> <li>Ensures nominated speakers are aware of all company expectations, compliance requirements and is considered disease state expert for identified brand asset. </li> <li>Responsible for coaching speakers and providing feedback on programs completed to ensure compliance requirements. </li> <li>Lead identification, nomination, on-boarding, (including awareness/understanding of EMD's compliance & process requirements) and content training to the promotional speaker bureau. </li> <li>Serve as lead for certain agency/vendor relationships relating to KOL Management initiatives/deliverables (KOL Mapping, Peer-to-Peer forums, and external congress leads).</li> <li>Developing and implementing processes for accurate measurement and evaluation of appropriate regional marketing related activities </li> <li>Maintain current scientific knowledge and seek out information pre and post launch from medical and scientific literature, scientific meetings, symposia and seminars. </li> <li>Demonstrated experience establishing clear ways of working that are impactful and seeks ways to refine engagement strategy, including pre-post conference meetings, ad boards, and third party education. </li> <li>Demonstrated expertise and proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Excel. </li></ul> <b>Who you are:</b> <br> <br> <b>Minimum Qualifications:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree required.</li> <li>Minimum of 7+ years of pharmaceutical experience in U.S. Oncology Brand Sales and Marketing</li> <li>Minimum of 10 years U.S. experience in marketing, new product launch, customer engagement or business development in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries</li> <li>Proven successful track record of strategy execution and relationship building with external stakeholders, while extracting insights that are relevant for the business strategies and ongoing plans.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and an ability to translate complex information into succinct and impactful messages.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to prepare for and lead elements of a new product launch with multiple filings and indications.</li> <li>Strong scientific acumen combined with the ability to lead through an in-depth understanding of the market, including expert knowledge of EMD inline brands as well as broader competitive landscape.</li> <li>Experience in the oncology therapeutic area a must</li> <li>Successful design and implementation of strategies with an ability to define a clear path in a complex environment, utilizing strong analytical skills to navigate through complex challenges, overcoming areas of ambiguity and delivering well thought-out solutions to seize opportunities.</li> <li>Ability to present to all levels of the organizations to individuals and groups as well as respond succinctly and clearly to any questions and challenges while presenting.</li> <li>Ability to effectively access, interact with, and influence various internal and external audiences as needed to support strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives.</li> <li>Proven ability to work with external partners effectively and successfully.</li> <li>Knowledge of KOLs and compliant KOL development practices.</li> <li>Demonstrated success in developing and managing strategic internal relationships and stakeholders.</li> <li>Strong ability to effectively "connect the dots" to align strategic interests between KOL's and other relevant functions within the organization (e.g., medical, advocacy, global)</li> <li>Ability to lead, mentor and on-board newer members of the team. </li> <li>Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary.</li> <li>Expert level understanding of the commercial aspects of the business</li> <li>Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned territory.</li> <li>Current valid driver's license</li> <li>Expert knowledge of guidelines under which pharmaceutical companies operate (i.e., FDA, PhRMA, OIG, etc.) x3.</li> <li>50-60% domestic travel within the U.S., including weekend conferences/congresses. </li></ul> <b>Preferred Qualifications:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Normal and routine office/administrative
