Altamaha Federal Credit Union is $70 million federal creditunion who serves over 10,000 from its three branches in southeast Georgia andis currently looking for its next CFO to direct and oversee the financialperformance and the security of member and credit union information.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:

  • In conjunctionwith the executive management team and/or ALCO, actively manage the financial performanceof the credit union and set the financial course of the credit union and assistin the planning and the implementation of strategic direction and riskmanagement of the credit union.
  • Perform all budgeting,financial reporting, product and services forecasting and analysis (datametrics) and department self-audit procedures, to ensure the financial safetyand soundness of the credit union.
  • Maintain anappropriate investment strategy to optimize use of funds and to maximizeinvestment income.
  • Oversee theaccounting operations of the credit union.
  • Act as thecredit union's key liaison during regulatory exams and Supervisory or otherassigned audits.
  • Oversee thecredit union's Information Security program.
    • Monitor theongoing cybersecurity needs along all delivery channels and internet-basedconnectivity of the credit union and establish, implement, and overseeprocedures to address those needs.
    • Recommendservices and products to align with credit union's cybersecurity needs.
  • Oversee thecredit union's Vendor Due Diligence program.
Otherduties involving financial management and may be assigned. All employees are required to adhere to theAltamaha FCU Code of Conduct. Eachemployee will additionally be assigned training, including BSA andcybersecurity training, that may include testing. Employees will be required to earn a passinggrade, as set by the vendor or AFCU. Allemployees will be required to actively participate in credit union advocacyefforts and are encouraged to contribute to credit union trade advocacy funds,such as CUPAC/CULAC.

Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance,Accounting or other related field is required. Master of Business Administration and/or Certified Public Accountantdesignation is preferred. Related workexperience may be accepted in lieu of MBA or CPA designation. Minimum three years in a lead accountingmanagement role with a preference towards credit union accounting managementexperience.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, networkingsystems, information systems and cybersecurity.
  • Expertise in a financial recording and reportingplatform either as a part of a core processing platform or as an integratedaccounting-specific platform. Expertisein Microsoft Excel. Proficiency inMicrosoft Word, Access and Outlook. Abilityto use Adobe or other like software to complete and view fillable documents.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret generalbusiness periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to organize thoughts in written,graph/chart/table, and oral form in a professional and grammatically correctmanner, so that the recipient may easily understand the contents.
  • Ability to create and perform complex calculations involvingmultiple components from multiple sources.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involvingseveral concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 5 pounds. Ability to sit orstand for extended periods and to walk to other locations in building asnecessary to complete work. Ability topush heavy doors as necessary to gain access to areas needing entry to completework. Ability to stoop, kneel and crouchto complete other tasks as necessary.
