This position has up to a $5,000 sign on bonus.
The staff Occupational Therapist (OT) is involved with direct patient care for of acute, swing bed (skilled), outpatient pediatrics, and traditional outpatient clients. The OT will abide by all responsibilities as outlined by their employment agreement with SMMC. The OT is a licensed professional who works with SMMC patients to facilitate health and well-being through engagement in occupation.
The staff Occupational Therapist (OT) examines each individual, develops a Plan of Care (POC), and uses treatment techniques to help their clients work towards a more independent life with the feeling of accomplishment. The OT continually reassesses the patient's status and adjusts the therapy techniques as needed. The OT is also responsible for consulting with the patient or responsible person, the patient's medical provider, and other agency personnel regarding the POC. The occupational therapy services are provided in accordance with provider's referral and as defined by the occupational therapy standards of practice. The OT performs all duties in a professional and ethical manner, collaborating with the other members of the health care team, ensuring quality patient care.
Requirements
The therapist must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program. 3+ years' experience is preferred in the areas of outpatient pediatrics, outpatient general population, and acute/inpatient services.
Must have a current Idaho Occupational Therapist license, and must complete necessary CEUs required by the state of Idaho. Must maintain a current BLS certification. Membership in the AOTA is preferred but not required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge along with ability to use search engines, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel. Prior experience with the use of EPIC documentation system is helpful.
