Responsibilities:
Looking for a full time (40 hr/wk, M-F) Occupational Therapist licensed as Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) for Adaptive Driving Program at the Frisco-Hub location. This staff member will join a large multi-disc neuro based facility, with PT, OT, SLP services.
Job duties will include performing adaptive driving evaluations, follow up driving sessions, along with marketing and program development.
Specific Duties:
Provides clinical and service excellence with the provision of patient care. Through their actions, consistently demonstrates best practice while communicating with and performing initial evaluations, treatment planning, treatment progression, ongoing assessments, goal setting, alternative referrals and discharge planning for the clients referred to the driver rehabilitation program. Through comprehensive history taking and utilization of appropriate objective measures and standardized tests is able to establish an action plan that addresses the clients’ specific needs and goals. Is able to understand and comply with diagnosis specific medical instructions, restrictions and precautions. Demonstrates ability to utilize appropriate clinical decision making to maximize client outcomes. Identifies client barriers, such as accessibility, language, age specific needs, culture and learning differences that may impede functional progress, follows best practices established by Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) and works with rehab team to collectively resolve issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education & Experience (Including Licenses)
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in health related field required.
Eligible to obtain valid New Jersey State licensure as a driving instructor.
Previous experience teaching persons with disabilities preferred.
Requires a current and valid OT license and CDRS. Licensed experience in a neuro outpatient setting is also required.
