Radiation/Oncology Staff RN (Full-time)

We are currently seeking a Radiation/Oncology Staff RN to join our team at Mass General Brigham. Job Responsibilities:

Provide competent and compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process Perform initial patient assessment, recognizing age-appropriate behavior, nutritional needs, cognitive and physiologic norms Deliver age-appropriate patient education regarding radiation, chemotherapy, diagnostic tests, medications, symptom management, and follow-up care Identify, facilitate, and evaluate outcomes of nursing care through weekly assessments using the nursing process Communicate the plan of care and other pertinent patient/family information to/from other healthcare team members Document pertinent patient information in the electronic medical record Foster a secure and healing environment for the patient and their family Collaborate with a diverse team of experts and provide guidance to nonprofessional staff in upholding recognized standards. Teach and direct nursing personnel for whom you are responsible Participate in daily operational activities of the Radiation Oncology Department Coordinate clinical activities with physicians and radiation therapists to ensure efficient flow of patient care Efficiently use available resources to enhance patient care outcomes Participate in quality improvement activities, including data collection and measuring outcomes Maintain/update clinical knowledge and skills through participation in continuing education and learning experiences Job Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing and preferably 1 year of oncology nursing or 3 years of pediatric oncology experience Equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree is acceptable and preferred. Oncology Certification preferred, working towards attainment of OCN or expectation of certification within discussed timeframe of employment

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

A current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse

A minimum of 2 (two) years of Medical-Surgical nursing and preferably 1 (one) year of oncology nursing or 3-years pediatric oncology experience

Bachelors Degree preferred

Oncology Certification preferred, working towards attainment of OCN or expectation of certification within discussed timeframe of employment.
