Duties:

  • Provide on-site physician services for civilian and military employees.
  • Support occupational safety and health programs.
  • Conduct limited sick calls for active-duty military personnel.
  • Provide emergency medical care for life-threatening conditions.
  • Serve as the Agency Medical Official and offer medical expertise.
  • Collaborate with the Government nurse and safety personnel to treat occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Establish protocols for occupational medical exams and interpret results.
  • Communicate with patients' personal physicians as needed.
  • Provide medical counsel on immunizations.
  • Evaluate employees' fitness to return to work and recommend modifications.
  • Offer first-aid or minor treatment for civilian employees and limited sick call services for military personnel.
  • Counsel and instruct patients on healthful living.
Requirements:
  • Licensed medical doctor qualified to practice in Mississippi.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Experience in preventive medicine or occupational health.
  • Registered in the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners for conducting CDL physicals.
  • Knowledge in dive medicine or hyperbaric medicine is a plus for conducting underwater diver physicals.
