Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE: As a Speech Therapist , your work makes a difference in the lives of our patients. Our clinical teams give our patients the greatest gift - the ability to spend enhanced quality time with their loved ones in their preferred environment.

• Plan of Care: Develop an individualized ST plan of care and makes adjustments as needs change. Guide the patient in his/her use of therapeutic, creative and self-care activities for the purpose of improving functioning.
• Patient Outcomes: Use activities and home exercise programs to improve swallowing, breathing, cognition, speech and communication, and/or any other speech therapy related function.
• Minimize Patient Risk: Help decrease re-hospitalizations by teaching the patient on preventative measures and making good decision.
• Family Educator/Advocate: Counsel patient and family on the disease/injury and how to manage in all phases of speech therapy.
• Policies: Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines.
• Rules and Regulations: Understand and follow agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and communicate changes in schedule/availability to schedulers or supervisors.
• Operations: Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings.

HARD & SOFT SKILLS:

• Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude.
• Patience is a virtue when working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
• Attention to detail is critical, as is being observant and following directions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Speech Therapist with a current license in the state of employment.
• Minimum one-year experience as a ST in an acute care setting. Home care experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance in your name as a driver.
• Capable of all physical demands.
