ROLE OVERVIEW:

As the Nursing Supervisor, you will act as a pivotal Nursing Leader within our team. Your responsibilities will include serving as a valuable resource for resolving issues, offering clinical expertise, mentoring and coaching staff, and managing patient flow during off shifts (such as evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).

You will play a key role in addressing clinical challenges, collaborating with the nurse manager, staff, and providers to devise individualized patient care plans. Additionally, you will support the nurse manager in creating strategies to achieve financial, quality, safety, and operational objectives. Park Ridge Living Center, an extension of Unity Hospital, operates as a 40-bed short-term rehabilitation unit that focuses on post-hospitalization treatment and recovery. Here, we deliver the acute care necessary for patients' recuperation in a non-hospital environment.

POSITION DETAILS: Part Time - 24 hours per week

LOCATION: Park Ridge Living Center

DEPARTMENT: Long Term Care

SCHEDULE: Off Shift Rotation (Evenings, Nights)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program required; Bachelors degree is preferred
  • Minimum of one to three years of nursing experience, with LT PAC nursing experience being advantageous
  • Prior supervisory experience of at least one year is desirable
  • Active registration as a professional registered nurse in the state of New York

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Unit Management. Take charge of onsite facility management, oversee patient care delivery, address arising issues, ensure accurate documentation, promote collaboration among staff and providers, and maintain a secure environment for all involved
  • Leadership. Provide guidance and mentorship to staff in clinical and behavioral scenarios, assist in optimizing patient flow, act as a liaison within and between departments, and offer support on resource management and staffing processes
  • Patient Care. Engage with patients and families to address concerns or grievances, collaborate with the team to deliver personalized care aligned with patient values and beliefs, and assist individuals in making well-informed decisions

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

M - Medium Work - Involves occasional lifting of 20 to 50 pounds of force, frequent lifting of 10 to 25 pounds, and constant manipulation of objects weighing up to 10 pounds; Requires regular walking, standing, or squatting.
