Position Summary
The Athletic Trainer will be invested in the success of our athletes in various local school districts. The Athletic Trainer will work with medical professionals and coaches to evaluate athletes' condition, establish plans for diet, fitness, and treatment, and track progress towards health and fitness goals. You should be motivated to assist athletes, coaches, and families realize their potential and possess a strong understanding of sports-related injuries and treatments.

Essential Functions
-Works with coaches, athletes, and medical professionals in Orthopedics and Physical Therapy to evaluate the player's condition.
-Establishes and maintains communication with students, parents, coaches, and medical staff.
-Fits injured athletes with specialized equipment.
-Prepares athletes for games and practices by conducting evaluations and using tape, wraps, splints, braces, and other protective devices as needed.
-Responds to emergent situations and make quick, independent judgments about how to handle the situation.
-Identifies acute injuries and provide first-aid triage, including assessing injuries and deciding whether an athlete should seek further medical attention and should discontinue participation in the athletic event.
-Detects and resolves environmental risks to athletes.
-Assists scheduling and organizing of athletic physical examinations and screening once per year.
-Compiles, maintains, and files all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents including medical, accident, and treatment records, and other documents including medical, accident, and treatment records as required.
-Schedule may vary based on school calendar.
-Participate in different meetings, presentations, screenings, and health fairs.
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
-Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Work Experience
-One year experience as an athletic trainer is preferred.

Education
-A Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or equivalent is required.
-A valid Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) certification is required.
-A valid Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer (ATC) is required.
-BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date required.
