Nurse-RN or LPNFull-Time/40 hrs weekMonday through Friday 6am-2pmRN Pay range $32-$35LPN Pay range $26-$32Saint Basil Academy is the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese home for children in need. The academy provides a loving Christian environment where resident children are nurtured to adulthood. Saint Basil Academy is looking for an experienced Nurse to oversee the overall operation and wellness of all the residents in each one of our programs. Oversee the overall health of the children using preventative measures, when applicable, which entails care of the body, mind, and spirit, with empathy, respect, and compassion. The Nurse works closely with the Primary Social Worker, and each Department head, to manage logistics for the children. Our mission is to facilitate shelter, protection, love and education for our youth, so they grow up to be healthy, wholesome, well-rounded Orthodox Christians, as well as productive members of society with vision and hope. Responsibilities: Participate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient careAct as health liaisonCoordinate and schedule medical follow-up, including completion of consultations.Provide first aid and emergency nursing care.Monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individualAttend team reviews and present information, as neededMeet documentation requirements i.e. obtaining & transcribing physicians’ orders, daily nursing notes, health charts, medication regimen reviews and case review summaries.Provide medication administrationMaintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, medical supplies.Participate in staff trainingPrepare clinical and administrative reportsSkills and Traits:The candidate must demonstrate: Good communication skillsEmpathy and the ability to relate to childrenExcellent assessment skills neededQualifications: Hold either a current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license OR a NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); must be in good standing with the licensing board. Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.Current CPR/First Aid certificationInfection control certificationMinimum of 5 years experienceWonderful, warm, caring and nurturing environment!
