Job Summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Surgical Administration. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Management : Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and manage patient care in collaboration with the attending physician and other healthcare professionals.
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Interventions : Order and interpret diagnostic tests, administer medications and treatments, and perform minor surgical procedures as needed.
  • Education and Mentorship : Serve as a resource and mentor to new staff members and physician assistant students, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth transition of patient care.
  • Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education : Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS, and NP licensure upon hire.
  • Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
Working Conditions

This role requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently, as well as sitting, pushing, and pulling occasionally. The ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is essential.
