RAYUS Radiology is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes.

You will take a patient-centered approach, providing Nuclear Medicine services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers, and you will guide them through this process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.

This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule, with variable eight-hour day shifts starting between 6-8am, including rotating call. Leadership opportunities are available for those interested in advancing their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Nuclear Medicine Imaging (90%):
    • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contraindications, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
    • Explain and prepare patients for Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures, explaining the procedure and positioning patients for optimal results.
    • Perform routine and advanced Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures on designated portions of the body, providing patient support throughout the process.
    • Assess, prepare, record, and administer radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and departmental policies.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment and high-quality patient care services.
    • Adjust Nuclear Medicine scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
    • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other associates and peers.
    • Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to safety regulations to protect patients, coworkers, and yourself.
    • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
    • Maintain an orderly and clean work area, promoting good safety habits for patients and coworkers.
    • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
    • Clean and disinfect equipment after each use, ensuring it remains in good working order.
    • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Nuclear Medicine Department Support (5%):
    • Perform and record daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation.
    • Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations.
    • Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
    • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
    • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
    • Assist with training new associates, providing resource and technical expertise as applicable.
  • Additional Responsibilities (5%):
    • Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
