Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Roaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for coffee, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of the roasting process. This role requires a blend of technical skill and creativity to develop and perfect unique coffee profiles that delight our customers.
Responsibilities: Operate and maintain coffee roasting equipment. Develop and refine coffee roast profiles to achieve desired flavor characteristics. Source and evaluate green coffee beans to ensure quality and consistency. Monitor and adjust roasting parameters to maintain product standards. Conduct regular cupping sessions to evaluate roast quality. Collaborate with the team to create new and innovative coffee products. Maintain detailed records of roast profiles and inventory. Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in the roasting facility.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a coffee roaster, preferably in a boutique or specialty coffee setting. In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, roasting techniques, and flavor profiles. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for sustainability and ethical sourcing practices. Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Physical ability to lift and move coffee bags and equipment as needed.
