CEO/General Manager Job Description
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER PENASCO VALLEY TELEPHONE COOPERATIVE, INC. ARTESIA, NEW MEXICO The Board of Directors, through its executive search consultant, seeks highly qualified leader to replace the retiring CEO. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in senior-level management roles and 10 years of progressive management experience. Experience in the broadband industry and a bachelors degree in business administration, finance, engineering, marketing, or a related field are required. An MBA is a plus. The CEO is accountable to the Board of Directors and responsible for all cooperative and subsidiary operations, where the CEO and Board jointly determine objectives. The CEO needs to understand the unique culture of small telcos as well as the competitive, technological, and regulatory challenges. Must have the experience and leadership skills to work effectively with a nine-member elected Board and 100 full time employees. Represents PVT to regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, and industry associations. Responsible for overall company success. The CEO plans, directs, coordinates, and manages all business of PVT and its subsidiaries. Knowledge & Expertise: Will be responsible for Mergers and Acquisitions, finance and budgeting, and staffing. Will require strong people skills with the ability to motivate, lead and develop staff at all levels. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills a must. Will travel as needed. Evaluates new business opportunities and recommends new services to the Board. Must analyze and acquire funding from state and federal agencies for the regulated business. Duties include implementing board and personnel policies, establishing operating procedures, developing business strategies, evaluating business ventures, and measuring and managing company financials.
