Job Summary
The Division of Neurology at Denver Health Medical Center and the University of Colorado School of Medicine (UCSOM) are recruiting for s Neurology Subspecialist to join the Denver Health Neurology team. The successful candidate will be joining a group of academic neurologists, who practice primarily at Denver Health Medical Center. The ideal candidate will be board certified in Neurology and have training in movement disorders. Well qualified candidates with other subspecialty interests will also be considered.
Responsibilities include supervision of supervision of housestaff and medical students. This is an academic position that emphasizes patient care, and clinical research in the Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency setting. In addition to outpatient specialty clinics, the Division runs an inpatient service, consultative service, and an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

Responsible for examining and treating patients who experience disorders, illnesses and injuries that affect the nerves, spinal cord and brain. Their duties include conducting physical examinations, collecting spinal fluid or other samples and running neurological tests to identify problems.

  • Prescribe treatments or medication best suited to improve the patient's condition (0%)
  • Order tests and interpret results in order to determine the best treatment options (0%)
  • Attend training and seminars to stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in neurology (0%)
Education :
  • Doctorate Degree Required
Work Experience :
Licenses :
  • MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
  • Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
  • Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
  • Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
