We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Systems teams in developing the next generation of spacecraft systems.
As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities may include...
- Drafting, planning, and executing various mechanical and/or thermal tests
- CAD design of spacecraft mechanical components, test hardware, or other ground support equipment
- Working with a team to post-process the test data and compare the results to analytical predictions.
- Developing requirements and managing procurements for flight and test hardware
- Contributing to a dynamic group culture to uphold core values through participation in collaborative teams and activities, as well as a dedication to continual improvement, innovation and risk-taking, and developing high quality products.
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or relevant technical degree
- Have experience in PTC Creo (or an equivalent CAD system)
- Have hands-on experience working with hardware
- To access APL's facilities and networks, US Citizenship status is required, subject to applicable laws.
- Have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent
- Have experience leading technical projects
