Description

The Market Manager develops new business and markets our products in order to meet desired sales, gross margin, and profit goals.

Essential Functions

Proactively leads sales to achieve performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones. Creating primary demand with end user. Establish business plan to meet objectives, goals and quotas for assigned customers. Establish heavy focus contractor relationships and the architect community to ‘pull’ business through to distributors (both existing & new). Ensure orders are entered accurately and invoiced on time. Makes necessary logistical arrangements. Implements selling process with account planning and sales calls. Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts. Travels in the field as needed to build relationships with customers and vendors. Identifies growth opportunities within existing accounts and target accounts. Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis. Able to train, develop, and guide sales teams to work with you in building the territory. Work with Vendors to make sure relationships are strong and ensure pricing and availability are in alignment with goals. Make sure inventory levels support needs in the market. Manage nonperforming inventory to ensure it is cleaned up in a timely manner. Marketing/Training

Supports and execute DW’s Sales and Marketing activities, including: DW Shows DW Dividend Program Customer Promotions & Programs

Keeps current on all product knowledge. Communication

Proper communication internally and externally, including prompt reviews and replies to email, voice mail and phone calls. Relays all competitive information to company management and sales teams. Meet all required deadlines and proper follow-up and follow through on requests assigned. Qualifications

Formal Education and Certification

Four-year college degree from an accredited institution preferred. 5 years experience in business-to-business sales may be substituted for educational requirement Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge of the building supply markets Computer skills and proficiency Self-motivated and able to engage directly with sales targets Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
