Key objectives for this role:
MIC GROUP is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Maintenance Technician position at our location in Brenham, TX. The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Candidate will ensure that work is in accordance with state and city relevant codes. The Maintenance technician has a high urgency sense to solve problems and make decisions. Candidate will assist with all aspects of new equipment installation, evaluates, maintains, and modifies all equipment/systems to ensure or improve production efficiency.
The Maintenance technician is responsible for keeping the equipment and machinery property of MIC on optimum condition, as well as the facilities. Candidates goal is to meet the Preventive Maintenance Plan and reduce the time machines are out of work due to maintenance failures an minimize the corrective maintenance time.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Maintenance technician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Performs preventative maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Assists with all aspects of new equipment installation
  • Evaluates, maintains, and modifies all equipment to ensure or improve production efficiency
  • Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects, work with contractors as needed, and maintain accurate and complete departmental records
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems
  • Install and troubleshoot all systems including single or 3 phase, 120 volts to 480 volts
  • Install conduit and conduit support, pull wires and feeder cables, terminations, and install panels, switchgear, and transformers
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/ electrical schematics
  • Ensure equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements, tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring
  • Prepare requisitions for parts and other equipment
  • Assist with the development of preventative maintenance and work order program, and inventory control process
  • Maintain and update departmental records
  • Perform fabrication and welding
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain good housekeeping standards
  • Participate in additional projects as needed to support the business
Requirements:
  • 4 year skilled Trades Apprenticeship or 8 years documented experience in trade
  • 2+ years of experience with PLC Systems
  • Strong understanding of machine operation and the interaction of Electrical/electronic and mechanical components
  • Ability to work with Electrical circuits including 24 volt controls, volt, single and three-phase service
  • Ability to work with Arc Flash equipment (training may be provided)
  • Effectively and safely, operate various maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to work interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics
  • Basic knowledge on welding
  • Safe work habits, following proper LOTO and other OHSA requirements
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Master Electrician License preferred, maintenance or journeyman electrician acceptable, license must be current
  • 6 years Industrial Maintenance experience required
  • Knowledge of manuals and technical diagrams
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical tools
