The Oiler performs the tasks required for preventative maintenance, maintenance, repairs and fuel various types and pieces of equipment.

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks per the manufacturer recommendations on the assigned equipment as approved by the Equipment Manager.
  • Fuel equipment as needed, perform daily services in such a manner that you do not impede production work on any job site.
  • Inspect equipment when doing daily services. Report any deficiencies to the Equipment Manager as soon as possible.  Take oil samples at the designated hourly intervals and turn them in for analysis to the appropriate oil sample lab.
  • Maintain records of daily services, hour meter readings, and equipment condition. Submit all records to the Equipment on a regular basis.
  • Perform minor repairs as directed by the Equipment Manager on equipment.
  • Provide own hand tools as required to perform assigned tasks efficiently and effectively in a timely manner.
  • Observe all shop safety practices. Report all injuries and occupationally related illnesses immediately to the Equipment Manager.
  • Report any probable case of operator negligence or abuse to the Shop Foreman.
  • Maintain your assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly fashion. Maintain a sufficient stock level of the appropriate fluids and filters required to service all assigned equipment.
  • Be able to perform work without immediate supervision.
  • Posses a valid commercial Drivers License, (minimum Class B with HAZMAT endorsement) and updated medical certifications.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of pneumatics and pneumatic systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of brake systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of drive train systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices.
  • Must possess both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess knowledge of proper equipment maintenance and repair.
