Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components within the company's manufacturing process. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to apply them to enhance product quality, reliability, and performance. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all mechanical designs meet both internal and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Create detailed mechanical designs, including 3D models and engineering drawings, for components, assemblies, and systems. Ensure that designs meet functional requirements and are optimized for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop and evaluate prototypes to validate designs. Conduct tests to ensure mechanical systems and components perform as expected, analyzing test results and implementing necessary design modifications.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring that timelines and budgets are met. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and test procedures. Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and complies with company standards.
  • Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support to the manufacturing team during product assembly and testing. Work with production staff to troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that mechanical designs meet all applicable industry standards and customer requirements. Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
  • Supplier Coordination: Identify and qualify suppliers for mechanical components and systems. Review and approve supplier drawings and specifications to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing efficiency. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering to apply best practices.

Job Requirements:
  • Education: B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent practical education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
    • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with FEA analysis.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
