Job Description Summary:
Works collaboratively with nursing, medical staff and members of the health care team in providing care for the Cardiac/Vascular Interventional patient; pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure. The technologist assists in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional invasive procedures, including but not limited to: coronary and vascular angioplasties; organ dilations; vena cava filter interventions; thrombolytic therapy and infusion; embolizations; coronary, vascular and non-vascular stent placements; central venous catheter placements; dialysis catheter placement; percutaneous biliary and urology procedures; TIPS procedures; therapeutic Oncology procedures; and pain procedures. The technologist assists with ultrasound exams, as well as other specialty procedures that may arise. He/She prepares the angiographic suite, performs quality control/preventative maintenance of equipment, monitors and operates angiographic equipment, digital procedures and archiving of images, sterile/environmental controls.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School or GED (Required)ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
Graduate of an accredited radiography program; current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent Certification and Ohio Department of Health radiologic license. Knowledge of anatomy, exposure, positioning, physics, radiation protection, medical terminology. BLS Certification . Requires on call hours.
