We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Systems Engineer to join our team, with a focus on developing advanced embedded systems, FPGA implementation, and digital signal processing solutions. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of system architecture principles, hardware-software integration, and digital signal processing, and will excel in implementing and optimizing DSP algorithms on FPGAs, developing embedded systems, and leading digital bringup and verification. This role requires leading internal and external cross-functional efforts as well as managing vendor relationships.
Responsibilities

    • Lead the definition and design of the digital and embedded system architecture in our ultrasound neurotechnology platform.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define detailed technical requirements for advanced embedded systems, FPGA architectures, and digital signal processing solutions.
    • Implement cutting-edge DSP algorithms in our system FPGAs, optimizing performance and resource utilization.
    • Write and optimize RTL code for performance and resource utilization.
    • Write and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ and develop drivers, libraries, and application code for embedded systems.
    • Develop and execute test plans for FPGA and embedded systems.
    • Collaborate with vendors and partners on the synthesis of Verilog code into application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs).
    • Lead the bringup, testing, and verification of digital systems, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards.
    • Work closely with other engineering disciplines and scientific teams to ensure cohesive integration and alignment across all project facets.
Skills & Qualifications
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
    • At least 8 years of experience in a product design related discipline, with some experience in medical devices or high-reliability applications.
    • Extensive experience in FPGA development, including VHDL/Verilog programming and debugging.
    • Proven experience in developing and integrating embedded systems, with strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
    • Strong understanding of system architecture principles, including hardware-software integration and digital signal processing.
    • Experience with implementing and optimizing DSP algorithms on FPGAs.
    • Knowledge and experience in working with vendors/partners on the synthesis of Verilog code into ASICs.
    • Experience in digital bringup, verification, and validation of electronic systems.
    • Familiarity with the latest advancements in embedded systems, FPGA technology, digital signal processing, and ASIC design.
    • Strong understanding of testing and reliability methodologies for electronic systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to gather, define, and manage technical requirements in complex engineering projects.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative and efficient solutions.
    • Proven capability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
