Talascend seeks an experienced Technical Service Engineer for a Defense Weapons System supplier located in Rock Hill, SC.
You are expected to work on-site, relocation support is available for non-local candidates.
Candidates must be U.S. Citizens, willing to obtain Security Clearance after employment.

This medium caliber, deck mounted, Naval Gun Manufacturer is growing its U.S. operations. This global supplier has decades of experience designing, developing and delivering innovative, high quality gun systems to 40 navies internationally, offering unrivalled capabilities. The Technical Service Engineer will have working knowledge of deck mounted weapon systems as well as, hand's on electromechanical systems installation experience and top-notch customer service skills. The successful candidate will be joining a newly established team responsible for the installation, repair, service and operations training on Naval Weapons Systems produced for the US Navy. After attending product training, you will divide your time between the office in Rock Hill, South Carolina and working on-site at customer locations. This is an ideal role for a former Naval Service Member with experience firing small to medium caliber deck mounted weapons or defense industry supplier. You bring a high level of technical knowledge of diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment and are prepared to tackle new challenges daily, while interacting with customers, end users, ship builders, contractors, and project teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Project Engineer, the Technical Service Engineer's key responsibilities include:
  • Installing, inspecting, repairing, maintaining and providing operational training on Naval Weapons systems.
  • Performing system testing and root cause analysis to accurately resolve faults.
  • Producing complete, accurate and timely reports.
  • Cultivating positive relationships with customers; delivering high quality work and outstanding customer service.
  • Responding to customer calls and questions in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for raising MRB's and closing down test operations within the ERP system.
  • Facilitating customer witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) in a professional manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements (State/Federal/Other).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates' degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering with 5+ years of directly related experience installing and troubleshooting weapons systems.
  • Resourceful, adaptable and capable of working independently and as a member of a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Full project life cycle support experience.
  • Communicates technical information to a range of customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage through competing projects and priorities efficiently with strong attention to detail.
  • High level of computer literacy to include MS Project, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Able to draft technical documents/reports.
  • Willing to travel; to customer sites, to the U.K. and work outside standard working hours from time to time.
  • Valid Drivers' License and U.S. Passport, with no travel restrictions.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain a security clearance, if required.
