Manager IT Applications

Purpose of Job

  • Under the direction of the Director of Applications and Analytics, the IT Application Manager provides operational leadership for the application team whose role in the organization is to ensure Ridgeview's application and system needs are well served. The role is responsible for coordination of stakeholders and partners to ensure expectations are well managed and to ensure high quality service delivery. The role is expected to understand and support the strategies of IT and the organization.

Job Functions

1. Provide oversight and management to the IT Application team to ensure a high level of service delivery

2. Ensure application team alignment around delivery of core services and clear identification of supporting role expectations and process

a. Business advisory services (Partnering with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT management to provide a strategic vision for new and supported applications and create system roadmaps. Developing an understanding of customer business model and system needs, analysis and definition of problems and opportunities along with options/recommendations, decision support, process development)

b. Application lifecycle and release management (application roadmaps, application selection support and implementation services and regularly scheduled upgrades and updates)

c. Application support, security risk management, change management

3. Ensure customers are satisfied with service delivery - Develops relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and guide continuous improvement activities

4. Project oversight - guide the intake, approval, and initiation of projects and monitor and address the various needs, concerns, expectations of stakeholder groups in planning and executing projects

5. Resource management - Balancing competing constraints and ensure analyst time goes to highest value work.

6. Build a customer service oriented team culture that emphasizes and rewards partnerships with customers and a bias toward intuitive and simplified user experiences.

7. Manage support delivery and service level agreements and targets.

8. Ensure appropriate staffing and staff performance. Evaluate the performance of direct reports, and provides ongoing coaching and staff development. Addresses individual staff performance problems as needed.

9. Management of the IT application portfolio and IT project portfolio data

10. Oversee relationships with external vendors and service providers for maintenance and support of application services, while adhering to the standards and processes set by the IT Asset/Vendor Management process.

11. Assist with the preparation of budget items

12. Develop and maintain an effective on-call rotation for 24/7 support

Minimum Education/Work Experience

  • Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 2 years of supervisory experience with progressive managing responsibilities
  • Experience in vendor relationship management, resource management and project management

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Systemic thinking when contemplating and implementing change
  • Technical aptitude including the ability to understand technical components of systems, interpret dataflows, and guide support staff to timely issue resolution

License/Certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare related experience
  • Previous Epic system experience
  • Previous IT Application implementation and support experience
