Maintenance Technician

Description of Position:

Maintenance Technicians work with other members of the maintenance team to provide daily, weekly, and monthly PMs for all process and manufacturing equipment. In addition, the technician will work with other maintenance team members to provide repairs to existing machinery and equipment. The technician will learn all aspects of an industrial manufacturing environment and will have the ability to tune their skills in regards to mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, control systems, and process application. The tech will gain training and exposure to corrugated processing equipment such as rotary die-cutting and Flexographic printing systems, folding and gluing machines, Banding and baling machines as well a product conveying systems. This position is a long-term position that will allow the technician to grow and increase their value to our team. The Technician will work with the Maintenance Engineer to assist with continuous improvement planning and execution. The Technician will provide immediate maintenance support when an issue occurs on any of the equipment throughout the workday.

***Multiple Shifts Available: 1st Shift 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday-Friday; 2nd Shift 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM Monday-Thursday; Weekend Shift 5:00 AM-6:00 PM Friday-Sunday

Pay Range: $30+/hr. (commensurate with experience)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • This position will include a broad and ever-changing scope of responsibilities.
  • This is a hands-on position that requires one to be directly and physically involved with the maintenance and upkeep of our equipment and facility.
  • A strong focus on physically cleaning and maintaining our machines and assets.
  • Will assist with continuous improvement of the production facility in regards to planning and execution of improvement projects.
  • Utilize PM program for equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Continuously work to keep unscheduled downtime to a minimum by maintaining clean and well PMed machines.
  • Work with management to keep the plant and all manufacturing assets on a continuous improvement path for quality and efficiency.
  • Work within our Food Safety Program and complete required documentation as needed for relevant projects.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to perform physical work such as making repairs to machines, changing mechanical, electrical, or other types of components, and cleaning by using a dry ice blaster, sweepers, rags, and cleaning agents as needed.
  • Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial machinery.
  • Experience in working with and on industrial machinery and automation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.

Education:

  • Technical/Associates Degree or higher in an Engineering or Mechatronics field preferred.
  • HS Diploma/GED requried.

Physical Demands of the Essential Functions:

Standing, walking, talking, hearing, and vision are required over 95% of the time. Bending, twisting, and reaching are required less than 95% of the time. Feeling is required 75% of the time while pushing and pulling are required about 20% of the time. Low levels of lifting (10 pounds or less) are required about 10% of the time, while medium levels of lifting and carrying (20 to 50 pounds) are required less than 5% of the time.
