Job Summary: 

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Specialty Specific Responsibilities: 

• Applies principles of cardiac and medical-surgical nursing in providing patient care.
• Maintains a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment commonly used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Provides pre-operative and post-operative patient teaching and education related to specific surgical procedures or adaptations in health status resulting from treatment.

What qualifications you may need: 

• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation(if multistate license, must change primary state of residence within 90 days)
• BLS as approved by policy
• ACLS as approved by policy (within 12 months)Successful completion of an EKG recognition and treatment certification (within 6 months)
• Associates Degree in Nursing or higher
