Bistro/Bar Supervisor - Part-Time PM

The Bistro Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage functions of the hotel in coordination with the Food and Beverage Manager and Events Manager. They are the link between the guest, the caterer, food vendor, and sales department.

Essential Functions:

Client/Guest Service

•Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel.

•Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service by responding to client/guest needs.

•IS COMMITTED TO MAKING EVERY GUEST 100 PERCENT SATISFIED.

•Responds to client/guest complaints relating to food & beverage department in a timely manner.

•Ensures proper delivery of meeting room special requests.

Bistro Responsibilities

•Creates and updates a weekly schedule for all Bistro Staff (with approval from F&B Manager).

•Ensures that all Bistro shifts are covered adequately. Works as Bistro Host for am or pm to cover during illnesses, busy time periods, and vacations as needed.

•Assists in the purchasing/ordering of food items and supplies. Maintains adequate supply levels to provide guest satisfaction.

•Confirms all Bistro related orders and shipments. Ensures that items are stored properly upon receipt.

•Shops for miscellaneous food items and supplies at local stores when needed.

•Reviews guest scores and comment cards. Implements ideas to improve customer satisfaction.

•Supervises and evaluates Bistro associates with manager assistance from F&B Manager as well as Events Manager.

Banquet Responsibilities

•Assists Banquet Captain and Events Manager with coordination preparation and service of all banquets and meetings.

•Greets and welcomes meeting room guests upon arrival. Schedules and coordinates additional help as needed.

•Assists in the purchase of banquet supplies and food & beverage items for meeting room functions.

•Ensures that all necessary arrangements are complete prior to meeting/banquet.

•Assists in producing menus as needed. Assists in determining if proper presentation and service levels are being maintained by associates.

•Follows up with clients to ensure proper delivery of services from banquet service staff.

•Assists in setting banquet policies as dictated by market conditions.

•Assists in creating meeting room set-up sheets and delivers them to the MaintenanceHousekeeping Department in a timely manner.

•Welcomes meeting room clients when they arrive and verifies meeting room set-up, count for food preparation, audio visual needs, etc.

Human Resources

•Maintains a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management.

•Works as a team player. Responds appropriately to direction/constructive feedback and applies as needed.

•Works to maintain a high level of motivation for staff to improve performance. Creates incentive plans with F&B Manager as well as Events Manager and implements them appropriately.

•Establishes effective communication between the Food & Beverage Department and other departments within the hotel.

•Works with F&B Manager as well as Events Manager to hire and discipline Food and Beverage associates.

•Ensures proper training and certification (i.e. food handlers permits) of all food and beverage personnel.

•Conducts reviews/evaluation of Food and Beverage staff with the F&B Manager as well as Events Manager.

Safety and Security Management

•Knows local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to hotel.

•Assists the management in recognizing and correcting potential safety hazards (broken doors, fire hazards, etc.) and security problems (locking doors after hours, etc.).

•Understands, follows, and assists with policies and procedures for the hotel's key control system.

General Duties and Expectations

•Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor in all situations dealing with fellow associates, guest, and clients.

•Manages time effectively to accomplish all desired tasks, duties, and action plans. Is punctual for all shifts and meetings.

•Delegates responsibilities appropriately and effectively to department personnel.

•Helps to maintain an organized working environment. Assists in keeping all areas of the hotel clean.

•Works appropriate hours for his/her responsibilities.

•Attends all required meetings.

•Must have bartending experience.

Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
