Job Summary:
As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Working closely with our medical team, you will perform a variety of radiographic procedures and ensure the safe and effective operation of imaging equipment. Your attention to detail, commitment to patient care, and technical expertise will contribute to accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
  • Greet and prepare patients for radiologic examinations.
  • Explain procedures to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain the best possible images while minimizing radiation exposure.
Imaging Procedures:
  • Operate radiologic equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines, to capture diagnostic images.
  • Adjust equipment settings to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Follow established protocols and physician orders for each procedure.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to detect any adverse reactions or discomfort.
Radiation Safety:
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients, yourself, and colleagues.
  • Maintain and inspect radiologic equipment for safety and functionality.
  • Properly shield and protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure documentation, patient histories, and radiation dose information.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory standards.
Quality Control:
  • Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure it meets established standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues for prompt resolution.
Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient cases and image interpretations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of imaging protocols and procedures.
Professional Development:
  • Stay current with advancements in radiologic technology and techniques through continuing education and training.
  • Maintain appropriate licensure and certifications as required by state regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Licensure: Valid California licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certifications: CPR/BLS certification may be required.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred but not always mandatory, depending on the position and facility.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating radiologic equipment and software.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to produce accurate and high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Safety: Knowledge of radiation safety practices and adherence to safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift and position patients as needed.
  • Maneuver and operate radiologic equipment.
  • Manual dexterity for handling equipment and positioning patients.
