Education
Satisfactory completion of 24-month course in approved school of Radiation Therapy Technology - ARRT registered (ARRT -T) OR satisfactory completion of 24-month course in radiologic technology - ARRT registered (ARRT-R) AND completion of a 12 month course in approved school of radiation therapy technology ARRT registered (ARRT-T).
Experience / Qualifications

  • State of Florida - Radiation Therapy and National - ARRT-T
  • Current BLS- American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers
  • Cyberknife experience preferred.
  • Able to work in a stressful environment and make good sound decisions, also possess good hand-eye coordination, be alert and self-motivated and listen intently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; good organizational skills; confidentiality; excellent interpersonal skills; positive interaction in dealing with patients.
Position Summary
The Radiation Therapist applies radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, observing all safety procedures as set forth by the departmental physicist.
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic parameters accurately.
  • Deliver appropriate patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist.
  • Maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions.
  • Maintain and adjust necessary equipment.
  • Position patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and any other areas in department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
