Electrical - Controls Engineer Opportunity!
A fast-growing, Virginia-based manufacturer is seeking an Electrical-Controls Engineer to lead the design, modernization, and installation oversight of control systems for industrial specialty equipment. As Electrical-Controls Engineer, the focus is on developing and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions to optimize performance and efficiency. Electrical-Controls Engineer Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience programming and troubleshooting automation equipment and related controls in a profession setting, with preference being given to experience in manufacturing/production environments
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with I&E/control system emphasis), or equivalent experience is required.
  • Proficiency with PLCs and automation practices is required.
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal/S7 and Rockwell RSlogix5000 is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FactoryTalk, WinCC and/or Wonderware InTouch HMI systems is preferred.
  • The ability to apply engineering principles to solve design problems is essential.
  • The capacity to work independently with minimal supervision is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel for project support is expected.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
Electrical-Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
  • PLC-based automation control systems are designed and deployed, integrating motion control, sensors, VFD drives, and actuators.
  • Ongoing support for existing systems is provided, troubleshooting and ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Level 1 control systems are programmed based on function descriptions and layouts.
  • Collaboration with project teams, internal experts, and customers to engineer solutions for technical challenges.
  • Comprehensive testing and simulation of systems are conducted prior to delivery.
  • On-site commissioning and training sessions are executed as required.
